Question by ?Clown Love?: What is wrong with this sewing machine!?!?
I can’t find the manual…so I’m getting really frustrated.
I’m trying to sew netty stuff ….tool (sp??) ..to an elastic band type thing. It’s really hard to do without th problems I am having. I wound a new bobbin to match my thread up top..bobbin wound just fine.
I threaded my machine correctly I have checked it again and again …but what happens is…I sew for a few seconds and everything is ok..then its gets all bound up and there’s like a million threads coming from the bobbin area!! they are all tangled and thick and its ruining the project..which btw is a tutu if someone has a better way to do this (for my daughters dance class) I figured I could just sew the material to the band while stretched out and when it was relaxed the material would just bunch up on its own…lol no???

Sounds like the tension on the machine is not set correctly for what you are sewing. Some times if you use tissue paper on the top and bottom of the sewing, after you have stretched the elastic and pinned down the tulle. Stretch as you sew through the paper and the elastic and the tulle and the top paper then the paper will just pull off.
There is another way to do those skirts though. Using the tulle approx 6 inches wide and twice the length you want the skirt (6″x24″). Just bunch up each piece and actually tie it around the elastic. The two ends of the tulle. will make the skirt. You will need to adjust your length to accommodate the amount of tulle that is used in the actual knot. Quick, easy, no sewing and is cute. Ends of tulle can be left straight, pinked, or pointed. You can decorate the ends of the tulle with beads, or feathers, cute cute cute.
Elastic can have ties added, velcro or a button/snap.

Question by is it time to go home yet?: Is it wrong for boss to give “hand me downs”?
I work for a small company of 12 people and I am second in command. My boss (also owner) does not buy me the proper materials for me to do my job. I have been asking for a new computer for 6 months and it never happens.
Aside from this, he came to me yesterday and said he just got a new portable business card case and wanted to give me his old one (it’s 3 years old and it looks like it). I felt angry about this, if he wants me to have a portable business card case he should fork out and buy me a new one! Am I right to think this way? Is his policy of purchasing office materials inappropriate or am I delusional? Your thoughts?
Oh, and as a side note, it’s not that the company doesn’t have any money. He always finds enough to buy his stuff including things that are not necessary and never get used such as a 0 binding machine that hasn’t been taken out of the box for 3 months.

Like they say some people are penny wise and pound foolish. Tell him thanks for giving me everything I don’t need, when are you going to give me what I need to do my job. It now becomes your property and toss it in the trash and walk out. You need enough confidence that could get another job. It’s tough these days but I retired 10 years ago and I could walk out and be working the next day.
What do you think? Answer below!
