Enclosed in a tomb alive it is the only other matter.
Tiny bits of metal, strips of paper scattered.
You get more angry, lonely, hungry; eventually you eat it
and die in slow sheer agony as your bowels fail to excrete it.
Wars and scores of civilizations worship at it’s tabernacles,
bound to it more by avarice than slaves contained by shackles.
Representing food, water, other things that are must,
replicated by machines.(some say, ‘In God We Trust.’)
I will seal myself in a tomb somewhere- but I’ll have axes,
and believe me, I would rather do without it than pay taxes.

In the past six months I keep seeing questions from atheists asking how can anyone believe in God?!

Well here is something I found in a book Titled God Bless America, published by Publications International, Ltd.

On the last page of this book it states the Contributing Writer is Marie D. Jones. I don’t know for sure if she is the Author of the following or if she just added it to the book, but either way I think the words written state quite well why Christians believe in God!

Found on page 95:

THE GIFT OF FAITH

No greater gift has God given us than the gift of faith; that deep and steadfast inner knowing that no matter what happens to us, we can call upon the help of a higher power to see us through.

Were it not for our faith, we would not dare to dream the dreams we reach and strive for. Were it not for our faith, we would give up too soon, back down too quickly, and walk away too abruptly from the challenges and obstacles that appear in our paths. Were it not for our faith, we would abandon those who need us when times get tough. Were it not for our faith, we would turn our backs on our own neighbors when disaster or tragedy strikes.

Faith is the invisible glue that binds us together, that holds us fast to our visions of what our lives can be. Without faith, we are weak, frightened creatures hiding our heads in the sand. Without faith, we would never have become the free and powerful people that we are. Without faith, we would never have dared to build machines that fly, send a man to the moon, and cure deadly diseases.

But with faith we can do anything, be anything. We can climb the highest mountian and touch the stars. We can fall and get up and fall and get up again, never surrendering, never giving in. With faith, we are warriors of the heart and spirit, bold and brave and true.

I would like to hear what other people of faith think of those words. Of course I can’t stop atheists from giving me their opinions of those words, but if any of you do post an answer, please keep it polite and friendly because I have done nothing to insult those of you who don’t belief, thanks.

PEDESTAL42 Your response is by far the MOST INSULTING AND CRUEL ANSWER I HAVE EVER SEEN! First of all the jerks who flew those four jets were not true people of faith! If you had ever bothered to read the responses by most of the world’s Muslim faithful to the attacks on Sept. 11TH, 2001 you would have noted that they were as shocked and sickened by what those terrorist monsters did as the rest of the world, non believers and people of all faiths alike! As a Christian I am taught by my FAITH to forgive sinners, so I do forgive you for your cruel answer! You owe the 3,000 + people who were killed or hurt that day back in 2001 a MAJOR APOLOGY!

No where in my question did I state that I HATE ATHEISTS ON NON BELIEVERS!!!!! I just state that I feel that the person who wrote those thoughts gives a really good idea of why those of us who are people of faith our faith in God. As people of faith we are taught that we are to love everyone and to keep hate out of our hearts, so why can’t you give us the same consideration?!?!?

ok it depends
1.) if you have never played guitar before. if you haven’t i would buy the cheapest one that way you don’t blow allot of money if you end up quiting

2.) are you playing rhythm or lead if your playing back up rhythm i would go with guitar #1 it’s dual humbuckers make the chords sound really metal and thick but if your going to be playing lead and doing allot of solos i would go with guitar #3 because more frets so solos become easier and the floyd rose will come in handy

Question by V: What would I notice on my computer if it were a Denial of Service attack?
I had posted that my firewall log shows an in bound (through the firewall) entry of 192.168.0.1 (8) that appears every 5 -10 minutes or so. I know that 192.168.0.1 has to do with my DSL box. I figured it was just my DSL box noting connection to my computer. This has been noted at least 2 years now
Now it has been suggested to me that it possibly could have something to do with a denial of service attack. Not sure if it meant agianst me or using me against others.
Now I do not detect any malware on my machine and I have scanned with several products including malwarebytes
When I check my network ( I have Vista Home premium 32 bit) through this method
Start>Settings>Control Panel>Network and Sharing Center it just shows
My PC > Network > Internet
Only 1 PC connected
When I look at my Norton Network Security Configuration it also shows just 1 PC on my network, MY PC
If my machine was a victim of a DOS attack or being used in a DOS attack, wouldn’t I notice something more? My internet connection logs do not show any connections other than those that I make
what is meant by WAN and LAN as it pertains to my question?
and would it be me being part of a DOS attack?
on others?
