I made a database application in Visual Basic sometime around 2002 on a machine running Windows 2000 and Office 97. I’m now on Windows XP with Office XP. It uses DAO (current ver 3.51) and Data Bound List Controls (current ver 6.0). I don’t know which versions of these I used when I compiled it back in 2002. The compiled version works fine. But now when I recompile it with only cosmetic changes it doesn’t work. When it updates a record, it puts the information in the wrong field! Is there some simple fix? Do I need to load earlier versions of something? Or can someone point me to a website that describes how to fix my application to work on WinXP with Office XP.
I converted my db to Access 2000 and changed all my DAT controls to Access 2000 but it still doesn’t work.
My database is currently in Access 97 format.
MS Jet 4.0 says it comes with DAO 3.6. I switched my reference to that and changed my recordset, database and querydef dim statements to dao.recordset, etc. but it still does the same thing.

How does the Binding foot work for the Singer 99?

I have recently been given a Singer 99K sewing machine along with a selection of feet. I have worked out that one is the binder foot, nd after playing about with it, can still not make it work. I was wondering if someone could either describe to me or point me to a site that will tell me how to ‘thread’ the fabric through the foot so that it will work.

I think, in fact, that i have two binder feet. One is small with just the part that looks like an icing piping nozzle. The other has this bit and also a longer piece which has metal prongs that point vertically upwards. Can anyone tell me what this is ? What is the difference between the two?

I’m designing a project for my engineering glass, and one of my ideas was to have something similar to the video linked below, at 16 seconds.

I was wondering how to imitate this, like are the two tracks bound by an elastic string ? How does the marble trigger it to release and complete the track? I’d really appreciate some input !
