Question by d_d_vyas: Mrs Smith’s legal argument for her claim would be under common law?
Mrs S drives into the entrance of Watson’s multi–story car park at 4.55 pm. She takes a ticket from the dispensing machine. This ticket has printed on it a black metallic strip that records the time, and the legend:

“By accepting this ticket the holder is bound by the terms and conditions of the contract.”

Mrs S enters the car-park. On the first floor she finds a large sign which states the terms of the contract. One of these terms is that any car left after 5 pm. will be charged .00 regardless of length of stay. Mrs Smith does not like this idea and attempts to leave the car-park; there is however a line of cars exiting and her departure is delayed by 10 minutes. At the pay kiosk the attendant tries to charge Mrs Smith .00 for her stay. Mrs Smith refuses; she claims a contract was not formed.

Question by feuhrerfam: I want to start an online business selling home made purses. What sewing machine under 0 should I buy.?
I want to use different fabrics and stitches for decoration and I want to be able to embroider with it and do a hem binding like for t shirts and stuff. Do I want a serger or a sewing machine? I heard that singers are crappy now that I should buy viking or beringer? I that true?

Best answer:

Serger for hem binding (be sure it has a safety stitch)

Embroidering machine for specialty patterns.

A 1 or 2 needle straight stitcher

An off the arm (Feld-lok) machine

The ONLY way you are going to pull that off is to buy used or surplus, and then you are only going to be buying someone else’s headaches. Juki (Union Special), Brother, Yamata and Con-Sew are the best made..all the others are TRASH, including Singer.

I have a Singer and… well, it jammed really easily and it’s really old, so maybe newer one’s work better.

Question by hogo05: What’s the best binding machine for under 0?
I need to replace our binding system (currently using a GBC wirebind system) and am hoping to get a comb bind – electric machine. It’s for an office of about 50 people, we bind about 50 proposals (3 – 60 pages) a week on average. Any tips would be helpful!

Best answer:

Answer by PacificHR S
all of GBC’s products are pretty reliable, we have a comb-binder, and it works great. It accommodates all the different size spines, which are available in all kinds of colors and thicknesses.
