Ok, just in case you aren’t familiar with fish or can’t tell, this deck focuses on tributing fish/or discarding to rapidly destroy your opponents cards. This is achieved with cards such as Fish Depth Charge, Spiritual Water Art, Cranium Fish, and Golden Flying Fish. The King Coelacanth and Oyster Meister are the key monsters in this deck b/c Coelacanth will be able to swarm the field with fish for tribute fodder and Oyster Meister serves as the best tribute fodder since he leaves behind a token, which can also be used as tribute fodder.
I opted not to use Mother Grizzly b/c there’s nothing really for her to fetch, beside Ocean’s Keeper, Deep Diver, and Macrotrema and I would rather summon Keeper and Macrotrema via Coelacanth anyway. I threw in Deep Diver not only b/c he fits nicely in the theme, but also he’s my only searcher and can fetch Coelacanth or Cranium if the situation is dire. When I get Coelacanth out, I will use it to summon Oyster Meisters, Macrtoremas, and Ocean’s Keepers. All 3 will still be effective b/c their effects activate in the Graveyard and I can still tribute a Keeper to Special Summon a Cranium.
A Legendary Ocean offers a nice field power boost and was an easy staple in this deck. It also allows me to summon Coelacanth with 1 tribute. Big Wave Small Wave allows me to more easily summon Coelacanth and it also activates Oyster Meister’s effect. It would be most advantageous if Golden FF is already on the field when I activate BWSW b/c Golden won’t get destroyed since it’s Light-Attribute and I can still use it’s effect even if I summon Coelacanth. I opted for 3 PoA, b/c as you can probably tell, monsters will pile up in the Grave VERY RAPIDLY. Thus, I need a way to recycle/resupply them and provide summonable monsters for Coelacanth. Unlike most decks, I need PoA more for recycling monsters than drawing, but drawing is still a plus. For similar reasons why I didn’t include any Grizzlies, I only am going to use one Salvage. This card only serves as a back up plan, in case I really need monsters. You may not like that I’ve included Bait Doll, but it is actually very useful and underrated. I chose Giant Trunade over Heavy Storm so I don’t have to destroy my ALO.
As for traps, the 3 Fish Depth Charges are 2 Spiritual Art are a no brainer. Time Machine is there for emergencies to save my monsters, esp. Oyster Meister (b/c if he’s destroyed by battle, I dont get his token). I may also use it for Deep Diver to get him back on the field again, so I could potentially use his effect twice. Threatening Roar is just for protection (let me know if you think I should use SoRL instead). Transmigration Prophecy is another back up for recycling monsters. I can also use it to stop my opponent having too much Graveyard interaction, so it also offers some anti-meta factor against Zombies, Plants, teleDAD, etc.
Whew. I think that’s it, but I was also considering putting in Gravity Bind (idk how many, since it works nicely w/ ALO) and 1 Terrorking Salmon which will be a BEAST if ALO is on the field.
Thank You
