How to politely ask family member for money they owe?
I sold a family member a piece of equipment (for their business). I drove four hours to deliver it,once I met them they explained how at the time they couldn’t pay it all, and asked if we would take 25% at the time and get the rest in a week or 2. We agreed, because any money was better than none, and 25% would be enough to cover the things we needed to pay until my husband got his next paycheck. It’s been over a month now, and I don’t have the rest. To be honest, I actually am in a bind where I NEED it, that’s the only reason we sold the machine in the first place, we needed money. Do I wait longer, ask now, or just forget about it.
Also, I know for a fact they have been using the mahcine and has made far beyond what is owed.
Just an FYI to anyone who does business with family…don’t, not even parents.
