Question by ~xoxo!~: a sewing question?
You’re sewing a child’s nylon jacket. You notice the fabric frays easily. Which would be your best buttonhole option?
A. Bound buttonhole
B. Jetted and piped buttonhole
C. Machine-stitched worked buttonhole
D. Handworked buttonhole with iron-on tape
Best answer:

I would do C and I would go around another and possibly a 3rd time before I cut the slot. I would also do an iron-on very light weight interfacing on the wrong side before I do the machine stitching. Just iron on a little patch right where the button hole is going to be.

I think I’d put snaps on instead…otherwise use the iron on tape so it doesn’t fray while you’re working the buttonhole.

Question by Mike: Do you see the Nets making the playoffs next season?
I know everyone is probably thinking “They didn’t make any major moves in the offseason” and stuff like that, BUT they did make some changes to the team. Most of the distractions and waste of talent like Jianlian, Simmons and others are gone from the team. The Nets don’t have to worry about Lawrence Frank or anymore boring coaching experiments. They now have a real head coach in Avery Johnson, 2 star players bound to have monster years in Devin Harris and Brook Lopez, #3 draft pick Derrick Favors as well as other promising players such as Terrence Williams, Anthony Morrow, Courtney Lee and Damion James to go along with other young role players. Sure not many of them stand out as an impact player, but I think that they can build some kind of chemistry to compete for a playoff spot next season.
Brook Lopez is bound to be a double-double machine, possibly a 20-10 player, next season. Harris is bound to being the star he was during the 2008-09 season when he was averaging over 20 PPG. Morrow, who has been one of NBA’s top three-point shooters, is going to have a chance to make an impact with his three-point ability (career 43% 3pt shooter). Derrick Favors may be able to handle their power forward spot and be something similar to what Kenyon Martin was when he was a Net. If every last one of those players can perform to their expectations, I can see the Nets being a real surprise team in the WEAK Eastern Conference next season. They’re not going to win a championship or anything, but they could certainly show some major improvement from last season.
What do you guys think?
