Here's one of the things that bothers me about this whole "soul" nonsense: what about the animals? Do they have no souls? Why didn't God give them souls, too? And if they have no souls, then how is it that they are able to experience "feelings" such as fear, suffering, love, desire, and joy? How can you possibly say it makes sense to say humans can't possibly have feelings without a soul, but animals can? What, have you never heard of nerves?
