Question by should be working: How do you use a coil crimper?
Our business just bought a coil binding machine and the crimpers for the coils seem to be a little tricky. Is there an easy way to do this?

There are several types of coil machiens and crimpers. The most common one that I have seen is a hand held crimper. The best way to use those are to remember right it red. The crimpers have a red dot and if you lay the document that has been coiled on a flat surface – put the crimpers on the end of the document on the right side with the red dot up – then crimp (you may been togive it an extra turn to get the tail right – do the same for the left side except no red dot (red dot is down). There are also some crimpers that come on coil binders – I have not sued them enough to be able to tell you how to use them. If all else fails – grab a pair of needle nose plyers use the wire cutter on it to trim the tail and then the needle part to turn the tail in.

Hope this helps!
